Okay, I admit that my fly wing hair post may have been a bit over the top from a technical point of view so I staged a fly for focus stacking session of a view of its face. No theory of optics, no math, just a dead fly staged on a pin before the camera.

I was quite nimble and quick in my younger years and I could often catch a fly by cupping my hand and sweeping it up as it pushed away for flight.
Now that those days are long gone, I must resort to stealth and quite a bit of luck.
