Why I like Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic, Leica, Pentax, Hassleblad, Signma, Samsung, etc., etc.

Good job. Good comeback.
Courious, do you own all of these? User ID said he had 40 cameras, so I guess it's possible.
Do you think this one will go 15 pages?
I started to review the thread last night, but the connection died. Do I went to bed
Not all at one time. 15 pages?...probably when the usual suspects take the topic in a different argumentative direction which all too often happens.

And I see you are from Philly. I was a staff photographer at the Philadelphia Inquirer for 29 years.
Cheers and best to you.
Thanks again. I remember it well...one of the tallest buildings on North Broad Street.
I was a Pentax 35mm user for many years before the days of digital cameras. Then my first digital camera was a Lumix that was easy to use together with using PhotoLab as my editing software. But a couple of years ago I decided to splurge, partly because of my years, I’m 77 now, and purchased a Nikon D750 plus zoom lens. I still use PhotoLab and my computer is a Mac.
However I was completely overwhelmed by the multitude of options on the D750 and even today I get confused at times. Recently I purchased David Busch’s book on using the D750.
I still sense that I am missing something that would help me in taking photographs without wondering what I am doing.
Your thoughts are most welcome.
I have seen outstanding images made with different cameras over my more than 50 years in photography, many of them came from a Yashica twin lens reflex in the early 60's. Today optics and cameras have gotten better.
Use the camera and lens you want or need. It will be your expertise and creativity what will produce the images you envision.
Camera and lenses are tools
"I still sense that I am missing something that would help me in taking photographs without wondering what I am doing." I believe it is called Program Mode and Matrix metering.

Can you say more about Matrix metering?

Yogi Berra?
Yogi wrote a book titled "The Yogi Book". He was famous for his "Yogi-isms". You can go online for a wider variety. Here are just a few: "I really didn't say everything I said" "When you come to a fork in the road, take it" "It's like déjà vu all over again" "No one goes there nowadays, it's too crowded" "Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't go to yours" "I usually take a two-hour nap from one to four" "You can observe a lot just by watching" "Never answer an anonymous letter" "Slump? I ain't in no slump...I just ain't hittin" AND here's the one I had in mind when I answered Paul... "Baseball is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical".
Sorry, but I can’t help myself, Paul: the other half is 20%, the rest is Photoshop.

Is Photoshop so much better than PhotoLab?
A good photograph has the most pixels.
A good photographer has a mirrorless camera.
A great photographer masters PhotoShop.

I have just found the chapter on Matrix metering in the D750 Fast Track Guide.

Me ?? 40 ??!? If I wrote that then it was a typo. I have no reason to exagerate and claim 40 when the real number is actually no less ridiculous at 19.

1/3 of the 19 are "semi-retired" SLRs and should find new homes with "their kind of people". Theres a few retired old Sonys as well. I figger the real keepers are only about 10 cameras. Across all 3 formats, 10 is almost halfway reasonable.
