This debate of shooting RAW data vs JPEG is as old as the invention of photography.
I know what the point is you are trying to make but, photography, for all intents and purposes, was invented in the late 1830's early 1840's and Digital photography was invented in 1975.
Anyway, if shooting JPG does what the shooter wants, shoot JPG. If the shooter prefers the options RAW gives and understands how to use RAW and doesn't mind the extra time it takes to process RAW, shoot RAW.
Some people don't like pepperoni on their pizza and some people don't like pizza. Some people ride Harley Davidson motorcycles because they believe Harley's are all American, and many of those same people drive Toyota's or Honda's or BMW's.
It's a choice, so choose wisely, and have fun!
