I would like to see that article because my logic would be that the sharpest part of the lens is the center and it falls off to the edges, by using a FF lens on an APC you are using the sharpest part of the lens.
My experience too, but logic is undervalued in today's world.

I shall try to read Paul's comments in a different light.
It's very simple with him. Two types of comments. 1. Extremely helpful. 2. Sarcasm, perhaps sometimes going overboard, but that doesn't bother me. If you ask a serious question, he will give a serious answer. I've noticed that he is especially adept at solving problems people have with Lightroom.

To Therwol, CHG_CANON, everyone else:
Yes, when he is answering a serious question he is very good, very helpful.
But any more, the sarcasm is more on the order of put downs. It's akin to a newbie asking a simple question, only to be answered by an old grouch telling them you, "Read the manual!" Did they ever consider that the newbie did not get a manual with the used camera they bought or inherited? No! Did they ever consider that the newbie doesn't understand the spotty technical jargon in that all mighty manual? No! Their attitude is, "Don't bother me!"
It seems to me that the purpose of this forum is to share, and help those that need help. If you don't want to help someone, close the thread.
Believe me when I say that I do enjoy the bantering and leg pulling that goes on between "friends" on the same level. But the put downs and arguing we can do without.
And just so you all know, I did enjoy the quip about shooting without film loaded.

You clearly don't understand the first thing of anything I've been saying ... That's the saddest development of all.

We'll, evidently not. So on the future I will be asking for clarifications.
