Glare from bright sun

How can I get rid the glare from bright sun on my Finepix JX-350 LED screen? I have plans to make hood for it, but I would like solve it with screen protecter or a pair of sunglasses. The hood would take away from the smallness of the camera.

I use my left hand to shade the lens from the sun that is falling on it. You just have to be careful, esp with wide angle lenses, not to get your hand or a part of it in the image. So hold you hand above the lens at a few inches distance and this should do the trick.

You may also be able to find a tree to stand under so your camera's lens is shaded that way.

Very likely not the reply you would like but the only one I know is the screen will wash out or glare in the sun - such is the nature of the animal. If you are unable to shade it to make it usable I would suggest your other option is to bypass it and use the view finder. I do not know this camera. Besides what the sun can do to the subjects another reason why the pros try to avoid bright sunny days. Good luck.

Such cameras are not made for use in those conditions. The only real solution to having a wrong tool for the job is, most unfortunately, spending money.

I could never tolerate owning such a camera so Ive never suffered your problem. Im pretty good at homemade accessories, but as youve noted, it wouldnt be a tiny camera anymore.

There are some very small used cameras with viewfinders on the used market, but very few new ones. For me, its the micro 4/3 system.

I used to use one of these, or at least something similar.
