Falling Asleep in Class

This is a different slant on falling asleep in class. A local mattress company is having a "Back to School Sale" on mattresses.

We all had little desks, and if we put our hands down, they made an acceptable pillow. One teacher didn't wake kids when they fell asleep. He told the class that if the kid was that tired, sleep was more important than a few minutes of instruction.

My sister-in-law recently retired from teaching ESL in Austin, TX. She told me that it was not uncommon for students to have a pillow in their school bag and deploy it during class on their desktop. I told her some people can concentrate better with their eyes closed. 😊

Funny! I'll often close my eyes to rest them. It might look disrespectful, but I can listen just as well without visual distractions. I'm careful not to appear rude.
