I've always felt that most cars are rolling works of art. Surely, the design engineers felt that way when they created the car, or the parts of the car. Beautiful, or interesting details can be found on most cars, even the ugly ducklings that we've seen over the years. I hope you will enjoy a few of these examples.

thanks, I think it's a "forest and trees" you may not see the entire car as art, but if you break down the finer details I think the art exists there. Typically, industrial design engineers are charted with doing a design on a piece of the car, and eventually those small pieces, if approved, will be rolled into the finished product car. I have to believe those engineering groups believe that they created a work of art with their piece of the car, whether it be a taillight, a grill, an emblem, or a dash cluster, etc.

Nice work bringing out the design elements of the cars.

I have to agree, cars can be and are works of art, some much more so than others. It seems the heyday was in the thirties with the Art-Deco/Streamline Moderne styling. Elegance & simplicity. The newer car styling is just so busy. My opinion.

I agree about the thirties KT, some of the most beautiful cars came from that decade. If you look at my first photo of the '37 Oldsmobile, you can see the Art Deco styling cues. I can make an argument for some in the forties and also the fifties, but maybe less and less so over time from then. But, art is a funny thing, what's one man's art is another man's trash.
