The charge difference is minimal but, you will find out about leaving the battery in the unplugged charger. I always remove after charging.

I know! I set my alarm for 3:00AM because I was so excited to check the voltage.

I'll tell you why I'm doing this. When I received the Wasabi batteries and charger, I charged them till the green lights came on. Then I left them in the unplugged (USB connection) charger for a couple of weeks. I thought I should test them in the Z fc. Neither one would turn the camera on. My first thought was that Nikon wasn't allowing third party batteries. Then I thought I'd charge them again. After getting charged, both batteries worked fine in the camera. I'll have to see how long these hold a charge. If they drain quickly, I'll send them back. The Nikon battery has been in the camera since I received it, and it's still good. A genuine replacement costs $70 - kinda pricey.

It would depend on the design of the charging circuitry, whether the circuitry is a load on the battery and how much.
eg. Reverse leakage on a diode is only micro-amps.

I charged my camera thru USB hub. It was close to 100%. In the evening I powered off PC. Next morning camera was at 0%.
So I would say - it depends on design. Usually designers have no imagination, their designs work in one particular case.

Wow! 100 to 0 overnight. Did you check the memory card? Maybe there are 1,000 new images on it.

"Usually designers have no imagination..." Funny! They're paid to have imagination. The designers at Apple are paid more than the engineers.

It applies to other - non-camera, non-battery cases. I have kitchen utensils that can be washed only in a dishwasher. Any attempt to wash them by hand results in bloody fingers. Now, tell me that utensil designer was ever in the kitchen... Not likely!

I used to ask my Dad why he didn't get mad when other people were yelling or saying 'bad things'. He would say, 'cause when they lose their temper that's when you know you're winning.' That would make me mad because I didn't get it. My Dad has passed, but I always remember those words. Years later when I finally got it, and my son asks about negatives or disagreements, I tell him...because it's always nice to be thought of..

Keep posting, Jerry.
