What I really appreciate is when overweight momma rides Walmartā€™s electric scooter down the middle of the aisle, preventing people from either direction from getting around her.

What really brightens my day is when overweight daughter on her scooter rides slightly behind and to the side of momma, also on her scooter. They remind me of custom cutters harvesting grain with their combines running in diagonal formation. When you see that you best just turn around and go somewhere else because they ALWAYS have to stop while momma reads the label on the 5-gallon bucket of chocolate chip ice cream, after which they discuss whether they should get the 5-gallon bucket or two 2-1/2 gallon tubs. Or the 55 gallon drum of chocolate syrup to go with it. And after they get checked out, they park the scooters and walk to their car in the parking lot.

And they wonder why some people murder total strangers.

There was a discussion a few days ago about going to find something in a store, and that particular section is blocked by someone else looking for the same thing. That happened to me today. I went the hardware store to find long, thin bolts. There was no one in the store except the clerk and the customer he was helping. They were blocking the area where I would have continued looking. I doubt they had what I needed because I think I covered the area where they would have been, but it would have been nice to continued looking. The aisles were very narrow, and this woman kept asking questions and dragging things out
OUT YOU COULD JUST LEARN SOME PATIENCE. Iā€™M SURE PEOPLE HAVE WAITED CIR YOU WHEN YOU WERE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ELSE

I'll look through the garage and see if I can find something suitable. There's always Amazon. : )

You need to get a life and look at your own practices. I ride a scooter in the grocery store and I am overweight, and I hope I don't impede you shopping time by my painful shopping trip. I have two knees that are bone on bone due to being born with bad cartlidge and sciatic nerve problems. So don't judge all riders by your own narrow minded views! Get over it!

Often, in the grocery store, someone will be standing, just looking and I need to pass. I say "excuse me please" and if they just stand there and ignore me, I say "thank you" as I walk on by! If someone says "excuse me" to ME, I say "any time" or "sure". I at least let them know I heard them.

Thereā€™s a difference between narrow minded and knowing right from wrong. I have no problem with people who truly need the scooters. My best friend has bad knees (recently operated on) who used a scooter and was overweight because of lack of exercise because of his knees. Like him, Iā€™m sure when you walk to your car you limp around, maybe use a cane and have difficulty getting into and out of you car.

The fat b!tch Iā€™m talking about lived with my adult daughter, sponging off of her, using her electricity, water, car and gas with no compensation and had absolutely no problem whatsoever getting up and down my daughterā€™s steps. When her overweight white trash daughter wanted to move in with my daughter, I had a serious talk with my daughter about the difference between helping someone in need and being used by a bum.

My mother had both her knees replaced, my brother had an injured one replaced and Iā€™ve had sciatic problems as well. You have nothing at all to be ashamed of and I truly hope your situation improves. And no, people like I have no issue with folks like you who truly need assistance. Iā€™ve helped folks on scooters struggling to get something off a shelf or put the stuff into their trunk. Iā€™m sure it can be hard having to ask someone for help.

However, I do have a problem with lazy bums using scooters that folks such as yourself truly need. Iā€™ve been there with my friend when he needed one and none were available because people less than half his age were using them and then walked to their car with no difficulty whatsoever.

I truly hope your situation improves. My friend said that his new knees gave him his life back. Good luck.

This brings to mind a day in the mid 80s. I needed a few oval headed bolts, 3ā€ long and with nickel plating. I went to an ā€˜old timeā€™ sort of hardware store hunting for them. I was part way down the aisle when a gent asked me if he could help me find something. I held up the bolt and he immediately asked ā€˜how many would you like sir?ā€™ I stood in awe, small hardware stores were becoming extinct in the big cities, I went to this one with very high hopes! That he knew exactly what it was is now lost to time. I bought a box of 50! Since then, I have amused myself by looking to see if there is anything remotely like that bolt in nickel. Yes, I still have a few left in the box,Iā€™m just curious if they are still available.

I think there is a minimum weight requirement to enter. That's why they have "Greeters."

Hahahahahahaha!
Where I worked , the ladder trucks had a maximum weight load for the buckets of 300 pounds. This was designed for the ā€˜average size workerā€™ including tools. One fellow was too heavy and a re-enforced bucket was ordered. He soon ā€˜outgrewā€™ that one as well. For a laugh, I made a company document that read ā€˜in order to keep employees within the required weight limits, a scale is being installed at the door and ID cards will have to be scanned to enter. Should an employee be over the limit, access will be denied for 30 days, this should give said employee time to drop down to acceptable weight.ā€™ This was for a laugh of course! The funniest part of this was that it didnā€™t phase the offender. It was the lean guys that were outraged about having to stand on a weight scale for accessā€¦

Yes jerry, its an annoying occurrence. A few weeks ago I went to our local 'card' shop to buy a Birthday card, and a couple were just staring at the section I wanted to be, I waited about a minute..no movement, so I walked around the shop pretending to browse and then went back..and they were still staring, I then asked if I could just lean in to pick a card....The look I got, you'd think I asked them to hand over their money!

Yeah, too much weight is a problem in many areas.

That's what I find odd. People are blocking an area, and they get annoyed when you politely ask them to make room for you.

I did my best to teach my kids right. As a parent, thereā€™s no better feeling than having someone tell you how polite your children are.

As you get older you generally donā€™t care whether people like you or not. I can be a polite gentleman or I can be a real horseā€™s ass depending upon how you treat me. Weā€™re those people blocking my way, I first would have asked politely to let me through. If that didnā€™t work I would have told them to move there sorry a$$es out of the way.
