Thanks folks for all of the kind compliments and attempts to answer my question, although there was not much consensus.
I guess I will have to forgo the labeling and just develop my own style - not a bad thing!

Posting some examples of what I am talking about. I know they are not great but I think they show the direction I am trying to head. I really like some of the examples in 'Seeing Fresh - Contemplative Photography' but find the book a bit too cerebral for me.

Is there a general name or genre (other than rubbish) for these or any good books to further my pursuit ? Still life? Abstract? Contemplative? Looking for suggestions on where to look.

Labels define things that are alike. Stay away from labels.

I like them all, especially the computer screens, title it, " the last picture " .

Fine images Phil. I like them a lot. Play with some B&W conversions on some of them.

I'd say you are noticing that which is less noticed? And... That's what makes a good photographer.

I like what you are doing. It is good to see the results produced by someone with a "vision". However, be aware that there are those who will see the faucet and hose, to use # 1 as an example, and miss the image. That is no reason for you to not to pursue your style of expression.
