Here's something to think about? The USPS """lost""" a personal check I mailed to a local medical office. Two weeks later, it showed up as a "washed check" (bank vocabulary) in which the """lost check""" got into the hands of a thief, and the check was changed into $4,200 payable to a fake name, and cashed at a local Credit Union. So my checking account got 'docked' for$4,200.
Suggestions? Don't eve use the USPS.

Hi
So I had this same issue or similar a few days ago, where I sent the package USPS and took the route of priority mail, and they stated 2 to 3 days. So based on timing was mailed on Monday or Tuesday and should have been in the customer's hand by Friday but I gave it till Saturday. So come Saturday was there and showed out for delivery somewhere along it never made it. So the customer never got it until Wednesday, I called on Monday and opened a case and was told it got put in a different bind. They gave a case number and got a call on Wednesday and was told it would get there and the lady said well maybe they could not read the address. Now mind you they used their label on the box, but they could not read it. So priority mail their based on the post office there is no guarantee. She stated to next time use Express mail. Go figure. Now I just went through this about 2 weeks ago.

I’ve had about 4 instances of packages not being delivered from Amazon via USPS this year alone. Some deliveries were lost. Some delayed. Some sent back. I’d like to tell Amazon NOT to ship anything USPS but I don’t know how.
Our little village doesn’t get mail delivered to the house. We have to pick up stuff from the PO.

Unless the mailing was sent with tracking you really can’t blame the USPS. The envelope could have been lifted from your mail box before it was picked up by the mailman or from the recipient’s mail drop if it was not in a secure situation. This is not an uncommon theft scenario. I always take mail containing checks to the post office to drop them into the interior mail drop box. This, of course, doesn’t discount that there may be a thief in the postal service.

Remember the politicians work for us and we have an opportunity to fire them every two years. The problem is getting enough people to see the problem and vote the out of office.
If I remember correctly, most people think Congress rates poorly to say the least, but THIER congress person is OK, again case of ME, ME, first?
Hello
Here is the thing it was sent with a tracking number and was told 2 to 3 days, and with the tracking number it still took an additional 5 days to get there.

I’ve never had this happen before so I’d appreciate any positive advice. I consummated the sale,of a camera with a fellow UHH member and mailed it Thursday of last week via USPS Priority mail. Was supposed to deliver Monday of this week although the PO doesn’t guarantee that. I keep getting messages it is running late but in transit. Its been somewhere between Memphis and Arkansas since Monday of this week. I went to the post office yesterday and was told it’s in transit and not last. Clerk said if it’s not delivered in a couple days come back and ask again. What? When is it considered lost? Yes, it’s insured and PayPal is holding the funds. This is frustrating at best.
Thanks in advance…

USPS does usually get it there -- eventually. I am now hoping for a package to deliver today (Friday) or tomorrow that was supposed to deliver on Monday.
I tracked one package as it went right on by Virginia and then doubled back to arrive -- about a week late.
Another sat in one location for almost a week.
Don't forget: This is the "service" that created a business niche for UPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc. and is now raising prices!
I expect they are like everyone else and can't get good job applicants. I don't know what this world is coming to, but the level of applicants has dropped noticeably.

I was truly surprised to read just recently that 75% of the 18-26? age group the military views as recruits are ineligible due to either criminal or health reasons, they may have mentioned drugs, but had relaxed rules on tatoos. While the military certainly has different needs than industry, etc., it still indicates that way too many young people are poor choices for work where being over weight or security would be an issue. They said they had tried dropping the need for a high school degree, but found that did not work out well.
I once asked a manager, summer before Covid, at Ollies about applicants and he said most were eliminated by head quarters and he never saw them again.

I ordered a camera from Amazon that was to be delivered via USPS. What was maddening was that the package arrived at the Amazon facility and was recorded by USPS as well in the tracking info. Then it left Amazon and dropped off at the USPS facility in my town. USPS has no record. Lost, somehow. It was just a cheap used version of a camera I had owned some years ago.

I have to bear in mind that the USPS and other government agencies operate under rules set by Congress. Many in Congress believe that the Feds should be involved primarily in defense. The great bulk of government services should be in private, for-profit hands. This is the opposite of the common good and a recipe for the mess that we see.
Government is not and should not be run as a business.

Actually, the post office is an example of the worse of both worlds, they made it semi-private, but still hold the controls. They demand they cut costs, fund retirement systems (once Fed retirement), buy all electric vehickes, but not raise stamps too much, close small post offices, go to 4 day delivery, or run a deficit, etc.

A good reason to pay everything electronically and not mail checks - the USPS isn’t at fault if someone steals mail outside the post office. Right now in my city, we’re having a spurt of mail being stolen from mailboxes. The other scary thing about mailing checks is that if a thief gets your account number and routing number, they can initiate an ACH transfer from your account. A couple of years ago, I noticed a $700 deduction from my checking account. Turns out it was from an apartment complex management company in Atlanta that routinely handles ACH transfers for their thousands of tenants. No one including my bank or the president and CFO of the management company could track down the thief. I didn’t lose the money, but the only way to protect myself against future transfers was to close the account and reopen another one (a PIA). Now I don’t write checks to anyone. I pay everything electronically with a CC (which gives me 2% back) and I have someone between me and the payee if there’s an issue.

In the last 3 months the USPS has lost 4 packages sent to me from Amazon. All 4 of the packages were tracked to my city. Over the weekend they were sent 1500 miles away. Go figure? My son worked for USPS in their local distribution center. Had to quite after a year-and-a-half. Poor management and he stated that 80% of the employees we're African and couldn't not even speak English!
Positive side, received refunds from Amazon.
A few months ago I shipped a package from Maine to Virginia via Priority Mail. It took almost two weeks to arrive, likely because it was sent by the most direct route -- via Long Beach, California. It was always tracked, and did arrive.
But I'd say Louis DeJoy is responsible for the management deficiencies of the USPS, not the line workers. And their race or national origin isn't pertinent unless to a racist.
