Legend has it that Kaiser had a deal with GM to buy Olds V8 engines, but Olds couldn't make them fast enough for its own use and the deal fell through. Imagine this car with a 303 V8. And the other Kaisers that were stuck with the flathead 6.

A friend had one back in the fifties. The doors slide forward into the fender cowls. Really unique. I believe the engine was a 6 cylinder Jeep. Only around 500 were made.
