At last, a decent shot of a humming bird. Several things made it possible. First, advice here about ISO and shutter speed which led me to use ISO 2500, shutter speed 3200, and shutter priority. Second, a post of a hummer feeding from someone's hand held feeder. And third, a hummer hitting the feeder while I was standing three feet away from it. I'd been trying to get a picture from ten or twelve feet away. So, with the information gathered here and my experience with a fearless bird, the following shots were made.
