The fireweed has started blooming here and we have some of it in our back yard. So the other day I got out the Nikon P900 to see what I could do with it. I sat on the deck and shot the fireweed handheld at 2000mm eq, with aperture priority. It’s approximately 70 to the back fence where this head of fireweed is so you almost can’t see it with the naked eye. The light was from my right and quite diffused through the tree leaves. The original was so dark the image of the fireweed was nearly invisible, so I did some editing in the Apple Photos app and brought it out so it can be seen. I think it turned out well, dramatic, even. In order to bring out the fireweed, I ended up with the slightly mottled background. I don’t think there’s anything that can be done to make it flat black.
Very nice,...thnx for sharing!!!
