My R7 with 18-150 RF lens arrived 3 days early at 11AM today

But first I have a "Honey Do"* list to finish before I can play with it. I also got the adapter to use my EF "L" lenses with it and the next step is to save for the RF 100-500L.

*Set up a blow-up 6' "Rainbow Arch" with water spray the wife got. It is meant to be on the lawn but she wants me to anchor it in the shallow end of the pool with a couple of concrete blocks and put a splitter on the hose I use to water my flowers and potted plants. I let the lawn go mostly brown because of our drought and with the arch in the pool the water it uses will all go into the pool to replace evaporation (on 100°+ days with low humidity and wind that can be 1 inch or so per day).

Scared of her, she is a retired Surgical RN who "knows how to use sharp things". Besides she didn't fuss over me ordering the R7, just said "Sure" when I mentioned wanting it. She even signed for it when it arrived three days early this morning while I was still asleep from reading until 2:30 AM.

Our SS and main pensions go into the joint account that pays all the bills etc. Also the state money we get to hire help for Jon - we do all the work taking care of him ourselves and get to keep the money. She gets her 401k and I get my 40% VA Disability for our "mad money". Mine goes for photo gear, computer gear, and books. Hers goes for pool toys, kitchen gadgets, sewing gadgets, or things like train excursion rides and the LA County Fair. I get to ride enough trains* at the RR Museum and don't like huge crowds like the fair.

*Besides being 9 1/2 years older I actually rode trains to get places when I was a kid (PA from KY to visit Mom's family) and the Army sent me across the country, Oakland to St Louis, on a train during an airline strike in 1966. I got a 1st class sleeper compartment and a 17-year-old Private in the one next to mine listed on the tickets as my "dependent" for that trip. Then it turned out the head Steward who ran the dining car was a WWII vet and when he saw we were ordering the cheapest meals they had (The Army gave us $5 vouchers for each meal. If it was more-and all of them were-we had to pay the difference.) he told us that for us everything on the diner's menu was $5.

A list of chores etc. "Honey, can you do a few little things for me?" Amazing how a piece of note paper with just a couple of things on it can look like a phone book under the right circumstances. And they are magical, as you near the last item more mysteriously appear that weren't there before.

Fantastic. Who did you buy it from, when did you order it? If your list is too long send equipment to and I will debug it for you

I got it from Canon Direct, their online store. I put in my order on May 27th, it was shipped June 29th and I got it July 3rd.
I mostly finished my Honey Do list so tomorrow after my medical appointments and dropping my car off for some repairs I will get a chance to do something besides look at it.
I thought of taking a quick picture of anything just to take a picture but decided I will do it right. A picture of my wife, the cat, the dogs and then annoy the birds around my feeders in the back yard. Or if I can get the wife to give me a ride go to the park with the man-made river, ponds, rapids, falls, etc. to take pictures of the water birds.
