I have a bought photoshop elements 2020 on win 7 that keeps asking for a disc. I did reinstall this a few months ago but was having issues so a uhh suggested disconnecting internet temporarily and loaded fine.
After I keep hitting continue I final get it loaded.
I'm confused. Any one have ideas

Is the version that you bought an upgrade, which is cheaper than an original? If it is and you don’t have a previous version loaded on the computer, the program is asking for the disk of a previous version for proof that you’re entitled to the upgrade.

Did you give it a disc - "straight out of the box"?

Connect your laptop to your monitor and you’ll have a big screen.

It's still a 14-15 inch screen.

I've hooked my laptop up to my old desktop monitor using the cable that came with the original monitor, my laptop has a port for an external monitor.

I'm assuming that your response is to the previous suggestion of using an external monitor.

Sounds like a "Temp" file is either corrupted or has been erased. Have you performed any disk cleaning recently, especially "Temp" files? I would suggest an uninstall and re-install of the software. Look for any uninstall software for Photoshop Elements 2020, it will help remove all traces of the software for a clean install. Best of luck!

An HDMI cable works for many laptops and monitors. Depends on how old your system is.

Do you have the software license key registered in your Adobe.com profile? If yes, visit the site and download the windows install file. That's better to have than the install disk anyways, as it's updated with RAW / ACR support and fixes.

Call the Adobe number referenced above if you don't use the Technical Support Chat option from Adobe.com. They're your best source of help.

Requires a little bit of research:
1. Check the specs of your laptop to see what type of video (out) ports it has (HDMI or display port common, VGA on older computers).

2. Check the specs of your monitor to see the type of video (in) ports it has.

Hopefully they will match and you'll know the type of cable you need. There are converter/adapter cables or adapters but limited experience on those.
