I like B&W, but mostly I stick with Color. Sometimes it seems that working with B&W is being "artsy".
Here are some B&W shots taken with a D90 and then converted to B&W in post-processing.

I'm a color guy first, last and almost always! Your first two shots are what I consider acceptable B&W subjects. And yours are pretty nice. Anything else, especially trees and nature shots...I just say "why". I honestly don't understand.
