A Great Egret Finds Food

Photographing this Great Egret drove me somewhat crazy dealing with exposure. I tried all sorts of exposure compensation but it never quite worked out for what I wanted. But the bird was so interesting while he hunted for good I could not give up on him. So while these photos are not exactly what I wanted as far as quality they did work out great for what I wanted for a final outcome, the bird finding food. He ended up finding a nice juicy sculpin, I think that is what it was.

Great food catch photos. A small morsel like that will be perfect to feed to small chicks in the nest. The last photo is your best of group IMHO.

Great sequence, Dennis. I bet that gull was thinking of stealing it.

Thank you Hereford for your comment. I almost did not post the photos because while not terrible, they are not their nor my best. But I liked the subject matter a lot especially when I saw he had caught something.

Thank you kpmac, he may very well have been thinking exactly that. I sort of hated having the gull in my photo because it blocked the Egret. But I did not have much choice. I appreciate your comment.

Thank you tcthome for a great comment and for stopping by. That salad does sound good. Unfortunately I just finished two tamales, one pollo and one puerco. Both good but not anywhere near as good as my wife or daughter in law can make.
