That's a heck-of-a shot Bob. I've done a few panoramas from that area but always loose the clouds over the time span.

Thanks for the visit and comment, merrytexan. Yup, this time of year, we get weather like this. Seeing those clouds forming was the inspiration for taking the equipment for a ride and try doing a photo like this for real.

Beautiful photo, Bob! My sister-in-law has a home in Fountain Hills. I remember standing next to their pool and her pointing out what looks like a face, caused by afternoon shadows on Superstition Mt. I'm looking forward to your Sedona pictures!

Good example of why I like panoramas - a replication of what your eyes see from side to side.

Have you checked out PTGui?

Hi, Jack. Thanks for the visit and comment.

In this case, the clouds were the inspiration to make the trip out there. Fortunately, they remained somewhat in place in the time it took to get there. Another bit of good fortune was they stayed pretty much in place during the 3 minutes it took to take all of the exposures.

Thanks for stopping by, BboH. I have looked at what it can do. However, that was after a friend of mine and I wrote our own stitching application. In this case, I used the Gigapan app, the Ps app, and my own. There was negligible difference in the quality produced. So, I pretty much stick with the one I've been using since around 2002.

Nice pano, Bob. I'm about 20 minutes from Superstition Mt. It really lends itself to a pano.
