I have a weather app on my iPhone, and one of the locs I monitor is Mexico City. No particular reason, just curious. The temps there tend to be consistently below more northern locs, like my area in north-central North Carolina. Example: As I compose this, it is in the upper-upper 80s here, but only 77 in MC. This is a common reading diff on my wx app.

With MC not too many degrees north of the equator, why is it always so pleasant temp wise. Inquiring minds want to know.

Where are the prevailing winds coming from?
When I looked the winds are out of the North for Mexico City and out of the South for Raleigh. Is it cooler north of Mexico City?
Some differences also depend on sensor location, near water, not near water; mountains, flatlands; city, country.
I'm 20 miles west of Philly, we are consistently about 5° cooler than the city.
Plus, Highs, Lows, and fronts affect the temps.
Peruse US national temps here:

The elevation above sea level is 7,349' and, as a rule of thumb, the temperature goes down by 5 degrees for every 1,000 feet you go up.

That change in temperature is termed "the adiabatic lapse rate".

So even though Mexico City is far south the temp can be 35 degrees cooler.

Mexico City is on a mountain plateau, elevation of around 7300 feet.

That's why I picked Raleigh..............
So, You just picked Denver for comparison?: "I just checked Denver...".
I know you didn't state that you were IN Denver.
You seem to write a bit ambiguously.
