Instructions say you have to get another app to do this. I am very certain there is a simple easy way and have tried several from UTube BUT haven’t found one that consistently works properly.

Would appreciate receiving details on how to do it.

Thanks

Larry

I'm not sure I understand your question. I know I don't know your camera. That said, if your camera has a USB port, you should be able to simply connect it to your MacBook Pro and use Apple's Image Capture (included with the OS) to import the photos. Even if it doesn't have a USB port, an inexpensive SD card reader can work the same way. Help us fill in the blanks if this isn't the answer you're seeking.

I don't know if this macbook issue. In many of newer cameras have a cable(sometimes included) which is used for battery recharge and download. The camera need not have a usb but some plug to connect to a USB on the computer.

On my Canon and Win I can use a cable to download either card, a card reader to the computer via USB, or the built in card reader in my laptop.

lots of vriations should be avail. Best place is youtube.

From what I'm reading here I believe the question is if the camera is connected directly to the computer do I need software to "read" the connection and download the picture files? The answer is generally yes; you can search the App store for options if you don't already have the software. If you remove the media from the camera and use a card reader (there is an SD card reader integrated into the newer Mac Books) you can access the media files directly. You may need to buy a card reader if your Mac Book version doesn't have one in it or if the media is other than SD. I hope this addresses you question.

Take the SD card out and put it in a card reader.

I have the RX10 and use MacBook. If your MacBook has an SD card slot, remove the SD card from your RX10 and load it into your MacBook. If your MacBook doesn't have a SD card slot you will need to get an adapter........

Best Buy has them too and as well as your Apple store. Downloading from your SD card is generally much faster than going directly from the camera. My photographs will go into apple "photos". In photos you can import all new photo or import all selected photos. Then in "photos" you can edit using the apple edit program already on your MacBook.
