I have been successful taking photos of Hummingbirds flying to feeders and such but never was I lucky enough to photograph one sitting still. Yesterday after running to my truck to get my camera to photograph a Monarch butterfly and taking its photograph I saw two Hummingbirds flitting about 3 feet from my head. One of them then landed in a tall tree and sat there patiently while I took photos of it. I THINK it is an Anna's Hummingbird because in one of the photos you can see some red beading on the front of the neck. I am not sure though. It also seems more brown than the green I am used to seeing. Maybe the difference between male and female.

Please feel free to make any comments.

Wow! It was worth the wait for these gorgeous pictures! I'd say this is more a Female or Juvenile Rufous Hummer not an Anna's...but as always I bow to those with superior knowledge. Thanks for posting, Walt

Thank you Mustanger, your comment is much appreciated. Like you I always bow to those who most likely know the names of these things. Mine was simply a WAG so I let those who know tell me what it is.
