Or from Bernard Shaw’s Revolutionist’s Handbook - something along the lines of: “If you strike a child, take care that you do it in anger. A blow given in cold blood neither can be or should be forgiven” as I recall.
Personally, I have never laid a hand on either of my sons, and they turned out to be fine men (and behave in the same way with their children, who are also kind and well behaved without the need to experience violence from their parents). I know some will disagree, but it’s something I feel very strongly about - you don’t hit children, animals or women (and men only as the very last resort).
the end results are never positive.
LOL, thanks for posting, Jerry.

Apparently you have never made a knife from an old ball bearing.
We can express three emotions: Love, Hate, and Indifference. Of the three, indifference is the worst and most destructive of them all.

Good advice for parents.
Never raiser your hand to your child, it leaves your midsection unprotected! :o)

However, it does get the dust out of a rug.
...and how about the seventh game of the World Series?

Never teach your child to defend himself. It can leave you at a disadvantage when it comes time to discipline him.
