I am really tired this morning, it doesn’t help that my leg feels like it has a fever in it so didn’t sleep well!
96.
Goos afternoon everyone. It’s a grey day today, temps 14C which is more like our summer weather. We still need rain like many other places. Karen and extended family have gone off to Birmingham for the games and would go early this morning, before I got up. Nothing new there. All sorts goes on before I get up!
I decided not to go to the supermarket this morning, I just didn’t fancy it, so I’ll have to go tomorrow. I thought of going up Stephen’s but that didn’t happen neither. It’s just a *do as I like day *….I’ve just come off the watts app video with Josephine.we had another good chat. She was telling me about when they went to Windsor. It sounded real interesting. I can only imagine the costumes.
Richard texted me this morning to say that Bernard Cribbans had died today. He knows him as Doctor Who I believe. Never thought he would know him. He was 93.I don’t know if you remember him when he was in the carry on films. Then he was the voice of the wombles.
Stay safe and hugs to the sisters who need them. Love yawl.

And the numbers will go up AND be spread around the world. Several of our athletes are not going. They have recently had covid/are recovering from it.
Stay clear of Birmingham, if you can!.
It said on the news this lunchtime that the venue for the games will seat 💺 30,000
Good morning all from a sunny Norfolk although it is clouding over a bit at the moment. Very quiet on here through the night, what are you up to across the Pond? Fence man has got his sidekick back today so they're beavering away. Nothing else planned for the day, will take it as it comes. Have a good day, stay safe. xx
Good morning from sunny Surrey. Being fairly lazy atm. Done a bit of dog walking, but mostly enjoying the garden and crafting.
Healing hugs to those who need them.
Happy Fish Friday everyone and stay safe xxx
My patio steps
Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 6:36 am EDT and 15'C (59'F). It is going up to 29'C (84'F). Yesterday it finally rained mid-afternoon and the wind picked up and blew all the humidity away. Knitting in the Parking Lot was quite comfortable. We were knitting under the porch. The owner of the LYS said that we won't be able to knit in the parking lot of the new place as the owner of the property won't allow it, so hopefully we won't have covid restrictions again (ha!). There is a nearby patio that belongs to a restaurant that we may be able to use, so long as we buy drinks or food.
The exodus from Toronto for the long weekend started yesterday. The 30 miles of highway east of here was closed because of accidents for most of the day. They would just clear one accident and the rush of traffic after that would cause another accident. One lady arrived at the LYS while we were knitting. She had been stuck in the traffic snarl from 2:30 to 5 pm. I have no plans for the long weekend. Just hoping to knit, maybe someplace cool. There is knitting in the park on Monday that I usually have to miss due to work.
Mum has food poisoning again. This time from an old pork chop. We keep telling her to read the labels. We always put the date on leftovers.
I got some sock blockers from the LYS so I'm hoping to stretch out these tight socks. I've almost finished the last repeat of my 2nd brioche shawl. This one needs to be blocked firmly. It has "bubbles" at the moment.

Happy Fish Friday.
Your garden looks lovely and inviting. I'd like to sit right in the middle there.

Our lone sunflower has been propped up with sticks. The squirrels have been "tasting" chunks out of it's stalk and it is looking sad now.

Good beavers

Hopefully they build quickly and your yard and lawn are back the way they should be.

Too many!
Caribbean Carnival is going on starting today in Toronto and they are expecting about that many to show up.
Luckily, most of the events are outside.
I forgot to mention, I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks. So 2 weeks that I DON'T HAVE TO GO INTO WHITBY!

96. br Goos afternoon everyone. It’s a grey day to... (
show quote)
I'd like more of those "I'll do what I want" days.
I remember Bernard Cribbans from Doctor Who. He played an old soldier who was Donna's (Doctor's companion) grandpa. I really liked him. He had been in entertainment since he was 14 and had a long list of appearances in shows, movies and doing voice overs, but Doctor Who was the only show that I've seen over here.
You stay safe too.
