And now they are saying that the monkeypox may be spreading by something other than touch.
The Canadian National Exhibition is on in Toronto in 2 weeks after a 2 year hiatus. The TV people are saying that they expect it to be packed wall to wall. (I won't be there!) I still wait outside yarn stores if there are too many people inside.
I hope that breeze continues for you.

I cleaned the vegetable crisper out today as I went to the farmers market this morning at 7:30 a.m. I thought it would be cooler at that time of the morning but it wasn't! Made a vegetable soup with all the veggies that needed to be used up and threw in some rice vermicelli... it was really satisfying!

DD just harvested the golden beets from the garden. Even the beet nuggets!
They are so delicious fresh from the garden. And we prefer the golden ones because there is hardly any mess and the kitchen doesn't look like someone was trying to ty-dye in it.
That vegetable soup would taste yummy. One of the best soups I ever had was Fort St Louis in Cape Breton in Nova Scotia. It was an onion base with HUGE chunks of rhutabaga, carrot, potato and beet. The chunks were supposed to be fished out with a knife so they were large and firm enough to spear. Then you are supposed to sip the broth from the bowl after taking out the bits. It was simple and yummy.

I went in to see Karen, she is going away to the commonwealth games for 10days tomorrow. Brie the dog 🐶 is going to her uncle David’s she is not a happy girl 👧. Karen is not a happy mammy because she doesn’t like leaving the dog 🐶 so theirs is not a happy house. I’ve got me a steak pie 🥧 for my tea and I’m really peckish.

I’ve been to Wendy’s this afternoon and did some good chatting, you wonder where we get it from. She’s got a poorly eye 👁 now , another something. She’s waiting for ointment. I had a little word with Cassie and showed her what we found on Sunday. She was fine, she says oh I never thought, 😣 sorry. I can’t help but like her. Anyway she did a very good job of cleaning this morning, I was well pleased. Sometimes we all just get into a rut.

I hope you are all well and those of you that aren’t I’m sending tight hugs, unles it’s jinx and I won’t hurt 😔 her elbow, I’ll be more gentle. Love yawl, stay safe. Xx

I'm sure your window sills will be spotless from now on.
I'll take your hug and send one back to you.

Good morning from a 64F and sunny Shoreline. Will be going up over 90F in the area, but where we are should only get up to around 82F. That's bearable. Got up to 88F here yesterday, which isn't bad compared to those who were up around 93-95F. No plans again today, so will see what comes along and get on with the knitting at some point. I hope you all are staying safe and well. xxxooo

Stay cool.
Happy knitting. I hope you have a small project. I need a new one.
edit: I should have scrolled back one, good luck with your socks. I know yours will fit better than my latest.

Those implants have been a long process. Has it taken longer because of covid restrictions, or does it normally take a long time. I'm considering getting an implant on one side because I'm missing teeth on that side including the last molar so there is nothing for anything to be hung on.

And the numbers will go up AND be spread around the world. Several of our athletes are not going. They have recently had covid/are recovering from it.
Stay clear of Birmingham, if you can!.

It is hard work on his own but it would help if he didn't keep disappearing, we're a bit too near his home when it comes to just slipping back there. Apparently his sidekick called in sick this morning, perhaps because there were two post holes to dig manually. xx

I'd call in sick for hole digging. That's why we have shallow holes around this yard. It's just too hard to dig a hole manually in clay! My neighbour was smart. He rented a hole driller from the Rent-All centre.

I'm going to sign off now. I need another cup of tea for my work desk.
Everyone stay safe and stay cool (except Judi - I hope you are starting to warm up now.)
Have a great day.

He's got one of those but for some reason it couldn't be used on those two. xx

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 6:44 am EDT and 19'C (66'F) going up to 33'C (91'F). Humidity is 98% and there is a haze in the sky. Thunderstorms are forecast and I can believe that as it is super still outside.
The National Backyard Blitz is on. For 5 days the Nature Conservancy of Canada is asking people to go into their backyard and take pictures of plants, birds, animals, insects and fungi and upload it to their site. This program has helped with wildlife counts and has helped determine where more fencing is needed to protect wildlife from highways. Last year someone found a herd of Asian Wild Boars roaming in Pickering just east of Toronto. Birds normally in the Caribbean have also been found, blown off course by storms.
We barbequed chicken last night. DD must have put too much oil on the chicken because we had a huge fire in the bottom pan of the barbeque. We just turned everything off and let it burn.
I finally finished the rib cuff on my speckled socks. And put them on. The foot fits lovely. The ankle area is TOO TOO tight, making it hard to get the sock on. I have a high instep and flat wide feet. I usually add stitches to the instep of socks that I knit and decrease them out after I have finished the heel, but I couldn't with this set because of the patterning. So now I'm hoping that they will stretch a bit with blocking (not likely) or I need to figure out some way to take out the cuff and leg and add some stitches in there. I DID go up a needle size when I was doing the leg. I think without that I wouldn't be able to get them on at all.
