Welcome to our first No Host challenge of the summer. Similar to Free Sunday, this week post whatever you wish. There is no specific host. Comment if you wish, however it isn't expected - all are busy and its great weather (at least here) to be out shooting.
The following image was taken in a junkyard full of rusty things. I call it "No Brakes, No More," because that's what the guy who ran the junkyard said when he pointed to it after I asked him what it was. It is apparently a drum brake and axel from a very old vehicle.
The original was made in 1976 on Kodak Infrared Ektachrome Slide Film, a special false color film. I camera-scanned it to a raw file and edited the raw file in Lightroom. Then I dropped it into Photoshop and played around with Neural Filters until I got a bizarre effect I like. This retains only the shape of the original elements I photographed. Nothing about it is in any way natural.
Sometimes I think my head is still in my 8th grade bedroom in 1968, when I had several Pete Turner and Peter Max posters on my walls...
"No Brakes, No More," said the junkman.
