This “Legendary” Portrait lens personifies Tokina's slogan - "Built like a tank!"
Its black metal “massive” shape translates to a serious Pro persona.
Looking like a little Bazooka, this full-metal jacket optic is a venerable workhorse of commercial shooters.
Although discontinued in 2003 it casts an unmistakable aura of current high end black monolithic Pro Optics. At a fraction of their price without excessive weight at only 1350 grams, what’s not to love about this Tokina AT-X Pro.
What’s Missing? VR; Instant manual override; Silent Focus; Compatibility with Nikon Z-Mount FTZ adapter.
Creditable offers of $300 (plus ship/insurance) will be considered.

Comes with Caps; Swiss Arca Plate; Hood and limited technical support to assure you have the very best possible experience with this classic portrait lens.
Cameras Supported: Nikon F Mount; Must have screwdriver motor, works with both FX and DX however FX is optimal. On my Nikon D3x & D810 it locks focus quickly, never hunts thanks to the wide/bright f/2.8 aperture.
Again Please Note: Will not AF with Nikon’s Z-Mount FTZ adapter.
Really not recommended for a novice hobbyist, this is serious glass for seasoned commercial shooters.
That said, it truly shines in a studio (compact and agile in hand)
I purchased this epic optic from KEH (who rated it (Excellent Condition)).
Caveat: This lens may require AF fine tune to achieve optimum acuity.
Not ideal for indoor sporting events (consider using a fast f/1.4 AF 85mm)
For weekend hobbyist I highly recommend Nikon’s AF-P 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Nikkor instead.
Very EZ to use, excellent acuity and half the weight (680g) of this “Pro Glass” Tokina (albeit twice the price I’m asking here).
