I shot this in the middle of the afternoon. Really boring blue sky. I wanted to try out the sky replacement tool. I know that the horizon is not straight but the buildings are so I am good with that. Let me know what you think

1. Don't try to level the horizon because it is the crest of a hill and should not be level.
2. It looks like all of the derelict buildings are leaning at different angles. Let them all lean. After all, that is what really old buildings do.
3. You have to be careful with sky replacements to insure that the lighting is consistent across the frame. Your sky and foreground are at odds with each other.

Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure that I understand what you mean by the 3rd point. Would you care to say a little more about that?

The colorful sky is the result of the sun being down low while the bright sunny spots are the result of a sun high in the sky.

Generally like the shot but would like to see it a bit brighter to bring out the bricks more. (Personal opinion only)

My opinion as well. Bring out the buildings (your subject) more. I messed around with the subjects and brought them out a bit and added more texture to the sky. You did not indicate if you wanted reposts, so I await your instructions. A beautiful scene for sure.

FWIIW, at my camera club someone displayed a similar shot and the pro/critique downgraded the shot because the horizon was not level...until they were told that the land was not level. They did not notice that the cacti were straight!

I found the lighting credible enough. The sky suggests the sun is off to the left and not fully down while the cast shadows of the low brush are agreeable with that.

Not perfect if youre super analytical, but certainly close enough for rocknroll. IOW no obvious misfit such as is sadly typical of UHH sky replacements.
