Ditto as to switching to new lenses. From what I understand, the attraction of mirrorless cameras has to do with the advances in operational technology. I do not read of a significant improvement of image quality. For now, I will stick with my DSLR cameras and their lenses.

I have high IQ cameras of both types, EVF and SLR. The imaging tech in the EVF camera is several years newer but theres no visual improvement even in the most carefully made images.

OTOH, the operational benefits of the EVF camera have left the SLR on the shelf.

Although this is not the topic of this thread, I do have the Topaz products that I signed up for a bit ago. I am under impressed and will be returning to Lightroom only when my subscription to Topaz expires. Best of luck.

It's not an either or thing. You can use Topaz from LR or PS and return the result to LR/PS. I use Topaz as a plugin. I don't use Topaz AI for everything, only when I need it and LR doesn't quite hack it.

What about the vast improvements in software? Maybe we can shoot with old lens at slow shutter speeds.

I admit, I have never used this software.

The Topaz suite of software along with DXO Raw and others are helpful for noise reduction, sharpness and upscaling image size to save an image. . Adobe also has the upscaling features now. I personally use the Topaz Denoise AI sometimes to reduce noise in high ISO/High megapixel images , and will sometimes add a bit of sharpness.

But folks will be always better off learning and practicing good techniques and using their good equipment properly to get sharp photos with less noise and better resolution. IMHO, we dont need more AI crutches to make up for lack of skill, technique and effort.

Cheers and best to you.

Tend to agree with applying "skill, technique and effort" for better results at time of exposure.
