Had this composition in my head today. Had no idea it would take me several hours to figure it out. Tried 3 different lenses, the final one was my 14mm-24mm wide angle. Lit the background using a strobe from behind through a scrim. Lit the front with continuous led light. Settings - 1/10 sec. f/14 ISO 400.
Had distortion with the wide angle lens, used PS warp tool to get it to look more natural.

POV makes a statement stronger than a straight-on photo.

I don’t ever recall seeing a wine bottle and glass shot from this angle. It probably has been done, and if so I would say rarely. Kudos to you for not only thinking outside the box but also not giving up on the idea. When you ran I to issues.

Your experimental mind-set is just the sort of thing that can lead to great success. The upward perspective is very effective but I thought it might be more effective if there was something to justify it. The only thing I could come up with was having the bottle and glass sitting on a glass table and viewing them from below.

Different angle for sure. How about figuring how to add a reflection?

What reflection would you think should be in the image? I spent a lot of time minimizing the room reflection in the wine glass. Not so much in the bottle.

I can't justify it other than trying too shoot form another perspective while trying to figure out lighting that wouldn't have a hole lot of reflections.

Nice one. I'm assuming you added the starburst on bottle/glass? Small detail but really lifts the image.

You are correct. The glass had a highlight right where I enhanced its with the starburst. The bottle didn't have one so I just added it to help the image.
