Taking the dog for a walk. Tried a b/w treatment in the iPhone Photos app edit function. iPhone 13 Pro Max

Personally, I have never really liked the B&W images my IPhone has produced. For me, I have found that taking photos in color does a better job of capturing the richness of the Blacks, Midtones and Highlights that can later be used to convert the image to B&W in post processing. As always, it's just a subjective opinion.

On another note I would like to thank you for posting your images here in the Smartphone Photography section!

Thanks. Certain photos jump out at me to try b/w treatment. Completely different post-processing approach. I found this to be a relatively ho-hum color image (below), but I liked the b/w outcome.

I totally agree with you. The b&w version is far more interesting.
