Three of forty cars practicing for the 74th Lucas Oil Little 500, a 500-lap non-winged sprint car race on the high-banked quarter-mile Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana. The track is advertised as the fastest quarter-mile track in the country. It emulates the Indy 500, with 33 cars running 500 laps the night before the Indy race. The pole sitter, who turned out to be the winner last night, turned laps of 10.8 seconds in his pole-running win. This is a race I don’t miss unless there is a better than excellent reason. Drivers come from across the county to compete here, and this year’s field included a Canadian and a South African.
