A lot of people could know this one - BUT - from a very specific experience!

"red will turn to green"

But that's not from a song - as far as I know.

I think this one will be a little harder than the previous, at least for those who weren't involved!

When a guy drops his girlfriend for another woman? She’s angry at first, then green with envy? After which she buys her first gun? And then hires her first defense lawyer?

Not this time!

Hint: Easterners probably will not get it, but a select group of Westerners should. And I don't think Google will help with this one.

You didn't say it was a song lyric. But Googling it with "song lyrics" did the trick.

Google didn't bring it up for me (at least on the first page).

Hint: If you went to Stanford, you wouldn't like this song! (That's about as west as you can be.) But there's still many people who could be capable of getting this one. And any next clue would give it away completely.

Googling "red will turn to green" song lyrics gave me the Cal Fight Song on the first page.

Obviously, Google's Premium Search capability does not reach as far as the Philippines! Sorry about that!! And yours is the correct answer.

My next clues might have been (to give it away) "On our rugged Eastern foothills" or "Straw Hat Band".

I didn't go to Cal, but I did go to UCSB (part of the UC system - now 10 schools total, including UCSB and UCLA, of course, though not that many in my time - graduated in 1950)

Never forget that blueberries are red when they're green.

I'm sure the following poem has nothing to do with your topic but whenever the subject is colors turning, I'm reminded of this poem by Robert Frost. The significance is that all things beautiful will fade in time.

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
