Someone told me about a google app called Lens that will identify a huge variety of things. Give it access to your gallery and if you need an ID on a bird, plant, animal etc. it can be most helpful. I just downloaded it very recently and have very little experience with it but with the three or so things I have asked it to ID it has done a good job.

Download Google. When you open the app you’ll see a camera. Click it. Photograph anything, an animal, a car, a building literally anything and search google’s data base.

Yes, that's the one I have but I overlooked the camera. Thanks.

I don't give Google access to anything.

Me either. You are just uploading a photo to Google for it to search. It doesn't need to access your camera, photos or files. It's great. Especially for ending an argument with the wife...Or starting one!

I use google photos to store my images in the cloud so each time I download an image to my phone or tablet or take a picture with either one the image automatically transfers to google photos. I'm not paranoid about things like that. As long as any info about me on the web is not going to hurt me financially I just don't worry. I don't like giving out my credit card info. When I made a donation for the Ukraine war relief I would give only to a charity that accepted PayPal.

If you take a picture with your Android camera, Google has a copy of it, and worse, know that it interested you. That info is added to your file. Soon, I'd imagine, you will see an add for something similar. Yes, I'm paranoid about Google, but I'm right. Dump Google if you can, get anything else. I'm half-way to a feature phone myself.
