Seems historically people were reluctant to give up horse and buggy. I have to chuckle when one posted “ may not be accurate, but I believe it “, come on if you don’t agree just politely walk away.

Admittedly, there are reservations and limitations to EV’s but, the damage being done by gasoline/diesel fuel/oil production and usage is a longer term negative impact on our lives………..

Just curious - why will Tesla NOW be a target?

Musk started Tesla and has owned it (with some partners I believe) since inception. Of course, after going public, he owns less of the whole.

Musk also said he is voting "conservative" so he pissed off AOC and others.

This says it all! Tesla haters will never give up. No one is making them buy one.

You are wrong. Electric supercharging is cheaper. We went from Naples, FL to Hewlett, LI. We ate breakfast and lunch, went to the b.r., and walked our dog while charging.
We stopped overnight in SC, and VA (30 miles from D.C.). Extra charging time (over gassing up) was maybe 20 minutes each day, maybe less.
If you live in an apartment house, you should not get an ev.
We owned both the Prius and Camry hybrids. I found the Prius to be uncomfortable, while my wife loved it. We both loved the Camry. That was a great i.c.e. car.
Remember, almost every vehicle death occurs in an i.c.e. car. They too burn. Most aren’t nearly as much fun to drive as a Tesla. It’s hard to beat plugging into a Tesla charger in your garage. It feels like you have your own gas station.
For mechanical beauty, i.c.e. cars (the best of them), can’t be beat. The engineering is amazing, and can’t (and shouldn’t) be compared with the mobile computing platform of an ev.
If you haven’t driven an ev car, you really should stop criticizing them, since you don’t know enough to compare.
It’s cheap enough to test drive, so go for it. Try a Tesla and mash the accelerator to the floor (on a clear road of course). I defy you not to smile.

The ev comparison would be the Tesla plaid, although BMW is coming out with ev’s this year.
Also, you can obviously afford gas even at today’s prices.
And, I did mention that cars like yours have amazing engineering.
The car that I’ve seen locally in Naples that I lust after is a powder blue Bentley convertible, which I can’t afford anymore than I can afford your car.
Enjoy your ride.

The electrical grid in this country can just handle what it can now if in 10 years we have more ev cars, and trucks and no new power plants we will have rolling blackouts, not be able to use our ac units in 90+ and lord knows what else can happen, we have law makers in this country that close the barn door after the horses have left the barn, I guess to be a politcian the first requirement is no comman sence second is to be just plain stupid, and third is make 4 years and get a golden fleece.

Someone showed up at our last Cruise-in on a newly purchased electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Don't think I'd feel comfortable with that power source between my legs, but it sure gives new meaning to the Electra glide model!

I would think that the lack of noise could be dangerous for both the rider and pedestrians

Already anticipating rolling brownouts this summer. I like the theory of EV’s but impractical for most people due to lack range, no charging for urban apartment dwellers and burning additional carbon to charge cars that are too expensive for much of the population. Switching from horse and buggy was an organic change. It was not forced by the government, the infrastructure didn’t overwhelm an existing infrastructure. There were no subsidies and rebates for the benefit of the haves paid for by the have nots.

ICE vehicles receive huge subsidies and always have. Owners still aren’t paying to clean up their waste products resulting from burning fossil fuels. The pollution, aside from causing global warming kills millions each year.
You have no idea how much more you would have to spend per gallon to get your exhaust to where it’s clean.
And then there is all the military costs to protect and defend or fight assholes like Putin, and the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, etc.
Yes there are similar costs in resourcing rare earths from African nations, Peru (or Chile, I don’t remember which), China, but not as much, yet, and they are working in better batteries all the time.
