Anyone get a bad Fujinon 16-80?

I have this lens and really like it, although I suppose I should say that I am a stills shooter so the video issues don’t concern me. My lens is fine, but I read on many different sites that this lens has a reputation for uneven quality control. So I’m just curious, not that this is a scientific poll, but did anyone get a bad copy of this lens?

Same for me - I’m very pleased with the sharpness of this lens - recently bought it (used) and just testing it in my last three posted threads. Take a look at this - the 1st 3 shots were taken with the 16-80. https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-739800-1.html (these are 1MB JPEGs). I wish I had used it for the indoor shots instead of my 23 f2 prime.

Have both Fuji XF 16-80 and 18-55 “kit” lenses on Fuji XT2 and XT30 bodies. Both lenses are excellent but the 16-80 obviously has more “reach.” Rented a 16-80 before buying one and was disappointed with the IQ of the rental but did eventually buy one and glad I did. It serves as an excellent “go to” everyday lens. Hope this is helpful.

I have one on my X-T2 and have been very pleased with it. An excellent lens at a very fair price.

Hate to say it but I did get a bad copy. It was very soft at both ends. Was more like a 24-70mm. My 18-55mm kit ran circles around it. I was very disappointed.

My 16-80 lens on my X-T2 works fine, and is my favorite all around lens.

Have several Fuji lenses, never an issue with any of them. Most are six plus years old.

Mine has been fine. It’s on my X-T4 more than any other.
