The local community college continues its season by winning the regional competition. Next up Nationals in Syracuse, NY. In the meantime, I tried something different by continuing using a ladder behind the centerfield fence along with setting up on the sideline. A few images from that effort.

I paired my Z9 with the 100-400 f4-5.6 S lens. I shot in shutter priority at 1/3200th, auto ISO and aperture as calculated by the camera.

Images for your enjoyment.

I know it would have been nice to include a tag attempt, but I just liked capturing the runner above the ground as she scored!

Nice captures. The images from your Z9 are great in sharpness and colors, helps with a good lens too.

Rick it is wonderful to see this level of commercial photography on UHH...
You have truly raised the bar here with these magnificent decisive moments.

Kudos to your ingenuity on an innovative shooting platform...
Visual perspective can and oft does take imagery entirely to the next level.
btw, I often use a step ladder in my studio to impart a unique rendering perspective on my fashion editorials.

Looking forward to more of your epic sports artistry.
All the best on your journey Rick, thank you so much for sharing...

Thank you Thomas. I am actually just an enthusiast not a pro. I found I enjoy photographing sports and that my time playing a number of them helps me. I think of what shots I would like to see of myself participating and try to capture those. If I suck it up and just ask to be able to photograph an event, it is amazing how many times I hear "yes".

Heading into the quiet part of the year for me, but I do have several bull riding/barrel racing events coming up! Stay tuned.
