BTW, (it probably wouldn't have helped Jerry this time, but) as I have said before: anytime you get a new USB or SD storage device, test it with h2testw:

or similar. No (slow, low cost) flash vendor has the time to fully test their devices, and I estimate that 2-5% of the flash devices that I have gotten are bad when brand new. Better to find out right way, when you can still return it, or at least, not use it.

Wow! Super slow. I told it to check a 32GB MicroSD card. It says it can check on 55,622 of 60,874MB. It's going to take over half an hour! I'm stopping it. Below is what it wrote so far. This was a good MicroSD card.
That is about as expected.
The picture shows 26.9 MB/S. That is the speed of your SD card, and that is not all that slow... for a typical card. You can buy extreme or extreme/pro that are faster (and you should if you are doing burst mode in your camera).
30 minutes for a 32 GB is about right. That is how long it takes to fill up your SD card, then it will read them back to verify that everything was stored correctly. The reading is typically quite a bit faster than the writing.
I had a cheap 256GB USB stick that took 4-5 hours. It is based on the size and the speed of the device, nothing wrong with the program.
