I agree.
When I was a kid I used to lay on the ground in an open field, stare at the stars, and imagine the concept of infinity. You travel as far as you possibly can and then..... you go more.
And you repeat this forever.
You would think there has to be and end somewhere.
Plus, the universe is expanding, so I have read somewhere.
I was wondering where my sock disappeared to.
Looks like a typical UFO photo.

And a ditto from me. The universe is beyond being vast. Planet Earth is 4.6 billion years old. We have had an oxygen atmosphere for over 2 billion years. And one can hardly comprehend the distances involved. Just try multiplying 26,000 by the distance light travels in a year! I have just finished Richard Dawkins book Evolution; what a read. (And something over 40% of Americans think the planet is just 10,000 years old!) The truth is that there is no God.
If you just finished Dawkin's (a premiere atheist) book on evolution, it's no wonder you think that way. I think, that after 5 years, and hundreds of scientists, and megabytes of data beyond comprehension, they finally got a picture of God blowing smoke rings.

I didn’t know we were that close to the center of our galaxy. I thought we were some distance out in one of the spiral arms. I guess we’ll be gobbled up by that Black Hole sooner than I expected 😩

We are 26,000 light years out in one of the spiral arms. Our galaxy, the Milky Way is about 100,000 light years in diameter. The Andromeda galaxy, the other large galaxy in our Local Group and visible to the naked eye in ideal conditions, is 1.2 million light years away, but headed our way at a pretty good clip.

Way too much for my pea sized brain!

There is a God or we wouldn't be here!!!

Pretty much the same concept!

I am afraid the evidence is against you but you are far from alone in your belief; there are more than 400 religions in the world.

For the second time, scientists have produced an image of a black hole, the one at the center of our galaxy. There is lots of info on YouTube and elsewhere. It's located 25,800 light years from earth, so the picture is a bit blurry. Stars are circling it at up to 24,000,000 MPH.
"24,000,000 MPH"
Jerry, that is faster than a Chevrolet!!!
And that makes me . . . .

Try Darwin not “Dawkins”
The gentleman was referring to Richard Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist and well-known atheist who finished his comments "the truth is there is no God" He raises his atheist point of view on several of the responses to other's comments. I was making jest of his position by suggesting that the black hole images were really God blowing smoke rings (just like He's also blowing smoke up PaulBrit's .....)
25,800 light-years from earth?? how long does it take the light to get to earth?? How was the picture taken? 24 million miles an hour? How was that measured?? In these situations, the scientists can tell us anything & we have to believe them because nobody is able to verify their claims, or check the accuracy of their work.
One light-year is equal to 5,878,625,370,000 miles ... lots of miles in 1 light-year & a lot more in 25,800 light years!!
If a space vehicle was able to travel 5 miles a second and light travels at 186,282 miles per second it would take 37,200 human years to travel 1 light-year, again, many more years to travel 25,800 light-years.

So they can't get a photo better than a blurry hot mess but they know the stars are circling it at up to 24 million miles per hour. uh-hhuh
