I like the images, nice and sharp with great color. I got a kick out of the pitcher who is smiling as she is releasing the ball. The pitcher I recently photographed did the same thing. Kind of disconcerting seeing a smile instead of an expected grimace! Thanks for posting.

The shot of the pitcher smiling was during warm-up pitches. She liked to be photographed.
She knew I was there and she was being shot. She loved it. They were way ahead at that point in the game. They won 13-2.
Good shooting to you.
Championship game tomorrow, then a couple of games next week and that's it for the season.

These are just more of your excellent photos. I still feel like crap. So hot right now in the 90's. I don't do real well in the heat anymore. Next week our (Soccer, Baseball, and Softball) regionals start. I am hoping to photo as many as I can ?. Keep posting love your photos. Been watching you on Max. Thanks BE SAFE!!

Jules, you are a master. Great series, especially like the next to last one, the play at first base.

I love all of these shots. Not a marginal shot in the bunch.
They are all well focused and well lit near the "Golden Hour".
Also, their composition for a rapidly moving sporting event is near perfect.
In short, you should be proud of these pics.
These pics really make me . . .

Your skill and mastery of this genre shines like a "diamond" in the sun...

Whenever I'm disappointed with the image stream on UHH I come to the "Sports Photography" Forum where the gifted shooters post...

Thank you so much Jules...
You are one of the very few that keeps me coming back to UHH...

Cheers! Thomas

Hi Thomas:
Thanks for your comments, means a lot. Personally I am always looking for ways to get better. Different angles, lighting, editing, something a bit different. Funny thing is the candid shots sell better than the action ones. I get to the games at least one hour before kickoff, warmups, etc for the sole purpose of shooting shots for mommie.
Regional championship game today at 3:00 next Saturday at 10:00 (yuck don't like the time) for the state championship game. That would be the end of the shooting for this year.
I must find something to do for the summer around the house, I will.

Keep doing it. I have listened to you talking about candid shots and how they sell better. I am going to start and get to the games earlier to do just that. I think my photos will be much better also. I usually shoot with what settings I have for action shots just closer. I can do much better with single shot slower speed etc. Thanks keep posting. Thanks BE SAFE!!

My action shots I usually shoot at 1/3200 at wide open no matter what lens I use. I don't shoot "mommie shots" at 1/3200 I will go down to 1/000 even with the monopod which I always use. Just can't hold that steady anymore. Then I will throw in a little fill flash to even out the shadows where the hat is close to the eyes. Most of the time +3 or +7 on ttl. Hope this helps Tom.
