O.K. Well it's time to take a fun walk into Antique exploration and check out the huge Antique experience! Join Bill and I on the ride to the Farmington River in historic Canton, Ct. I'm certain that you all have tasted the fun of searching for just the right treasure! Or, maybe you have family heirlooms to share with us. I'll be excited to see what you can come up with on your own!
My wife and I were traveling from a project of mine under construction in Mcveytown towards Lewistown, PA. We passed by a large building that said antiques. We looked around inside and under a tarp was a dirt covered old pump organ from the early 1880's. I asked how much, price was right. We bought it, took it home, cleaned it up and tried playing it. Amazingly it worked wonderfully and we had an organist play Christmas songs it at an open house at Christmas time where we opened our old Victorian house for tours.
People loved it and about 2,000 people toured the home that day.
Here is the organ, I built the 2 bookcases to match it and most the books in them were available to the original owner who lived there from 1895-1922 when he died of a stroke walking to work. There is an old Victorian 3D viewer and an old Brownie camera on the shelves. A butter churn on top.

A lovely room, my mom played an up right piano and later on had a small organ.
Very interesting group, Karin! Lots to learn from the history of these antiques!
