My first time using the new lens I got in December as it was intended. Photographed Corning Community College softball. Shot with a Z9 & 100-400 f4-5.6 S lens. Shutter priority at 3200, auto ISO max set at 400, aperture as calculated by the Z9. Looked to usually be as wide open as the lens allowed.

The image of the hitter with the bent bat - the focus on this one was actually on the player in the dugout. However, I included it because I have never seen an aluminum bat fail!

EDIT: APPARENTLY the bat is built to flex. I have been out of the game so long I didn't even know such a variation existed! The bat did not fail!

Perhaps its just "Rolling Shutter", it happens with fast moving objects.
