This is a studio shot of a shot glass directly behind a small vase, both directly behind a larger vase. Very simple setup. Backlit with a couple of speedlights.

Very striking picture. Thanks for posting. I disagree with the very tight cropping. It does not work for me in the case. Also, the shot seems to have been made on a slightly dark table with a white wall behind. I would have preferred a smoother background between the two surfaces.

That's very interesting. Just a few minutes ago I was looking again at the photo thinking I should crop it even tighter. We all see differently. Thanks for the reply.

Cropping is a matter of taste and I would be glad to see what else you might have in mind. I have seen some very tightly cropped pictures that I would not have done that way but I thought were very effective.

Very interesting, visually separating the glass, controlling the distortion, focus. Nice. Where were the lights?

Very basic and simple dark line, or black line set up.
