Prom

I did prom pictures for my granddaughter and her friend yesterday evening. We did then in her friends living room against a bay window. I used a Canon 5DIII camera and a Canon 24/105mm-f/4 lens. I had a Godox V1 flash with a dome top from the Godox AK-R1 accessories kit mounted on the camera. My go to camera settings for indoor flash with that lens are, ISO800, shutter speed 1/125, aperture f/4.

Very, very nice!! I really like #3 but was wondering if you could darken or better yet, remove the light bulbs?

Yep... those bulbs were a distraction from your enchanting Granddaughter charismatic allure...
Loving her makeup... Nail decor... and epic Gothic wardrobe styling...

Your expertise in the portraiture arena is absolutely superb Wayne...
Please keep up the good work, always looking forward to your next post!

Thank you for posting these lovely portraits, Wayne. I always look forward to your data and diagrams to learn portraiture, so I hope you can explain the lighting to me in a bit more detail. Your round head flash was mounted on the camera. Was the flash pointed upward to a ceiling, and was the Godox accessory a small, curved reflector that directed some of the flash output straight forward? The reason I'm asking is that the lighting of your subjects have a beautiful, soft, diffused quality, akin to what I'd expect to see from a softbox, instead. Thus, you did an amazing lighting job with the single round flash!
