I like the idea. Not sure if you can control the amount of texture. If so, and it was mine I might scale it back a bit.

Yes, I can control it. I always not sure how the image appears when I post it. Thanks for the suggestion.

A broad brush may hide some detail but amplifies the essential character of the image. Well done, I do like #1 . .
