Tom DePuy Loc: Waxhaw, N.C.

Being pulled through Waxhaw, N.C., behind the CSX locomotive headed to Aberdeen, N.C.

The locomotive was built as an E8a in 9/1953, Con. #18319, Order #FN 2069-A8 as the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy RR #9977. It became Burlington Northern RR #9977 [E8a] in 1970 but was rebuilt by Morrison Knudson Co. in 12/1974 as BN RR #9904 [as an E9a]. It was rebuilt again by the IC RR in 1995 as an E9au as #101.
It is on its way to the Aberdeen, N.C., Carolina & Western RR, the new purchaser and will be presumably repainted in their new fushia/yellow paint scheme.
Last 2 photos are not mine, just posting them to show the now paint scheme, and the possible new paint scheme for this locomotive.

Good Job. I love these pictures!!! I'm in the process of building a bedroom size HO Model Railroad. These pictures help you design and install life-like scenery. Wish I could see more of the track and ballast. Thanks for posting. You made my day.

In this area, we have a wooden walkway that goes over the tracks, I think I may have a couple of photos of it with a train coming under it.
I shall try and find it and post it for you if you would like.

101 is a train I would have loved to have on my train platform as a boy.
