How can you check to see if your photograph was shot in raw
You should be able to bring up setting s on your camera and get a detailed settings. You also can go into the settings on your camera and and make sure the raw settings are enabled on your camera to be able to take in this mode. All cameras will not necessarily have this feature.
You can also check the file extension, i.e. NEF is Nikon. I don't use Canon, so i am quessing CR2, etc.
It was a Canon but I want to know how you can tell once it was on the computer. I can go to photo info but it doesn't say but does give the resolution. Can you tell by the resolution

Susan226, No you can't tell by resolution. Like photocat said look at the suffix of your file name and if it a RAW it will have .CR2 as the suffix. If was jpg it wll have a .jpg as the suffix of your file name. I hope this helps!
Adubin is right - check the file extension - it will tell - also right click on photo - file information should come up. If it is worth anything - found out the my Epson Stylus Photo R380 can read Nikon raw files and I now us it to download from my compact flash card. Also us windows to transfer photos into a file on my computer - don;t need any separate software.
It will be in the Metadata in your photo. I use Aperture on my MAC and can easily pull up the info. If you don't have a program that reads the Metadata then the only way to tell is the file extension as stated in the previous posts.
