2022 Raleigh Relays Little Track & Field

Went out for a few days to shoot some of the 2022 Raleigh Relays track and field. A lot of colleges on hand for this annual event. I have not shot T&F for years so I was rusty, along with using a new lens (100-400 f4.5-5.6 S). Day 1 was fit in between down pours. Day 2 windy conditions with the sun being intermittently bright and hiding behind clouds. Day 3, windy, partly cloudy and cold for this area! I even got to photograph the steeple chase event (new for me!) and my first endeavor at a relay (4x100). So it was a fun time.

I used the Z9 with the 100-400, shooting as wide open as the lens would allow, as auto ISO was calculated at 1/1000 - 1/1250th. Mostly in manual mode, fighting the ever changing light before I had a good old fashion D'oh! moment! Shoot in shutter priority and let the camera change aperture and ISO as the clouds came and went!

A few shots from the men's events. Women's I will work on tomorrow and share later.
