IPhone Tip

I sometimes have several tabs open on my desktop computer. The same goes for my IPhone 13 Pro Max. Things like a Text chat that I'm following or Google Maps, Native Camera app etc. Trying to find an open app running in the background used to be easy prior to models IP X. You would just double tap the home button to get you back to the home screen etc. With newer models there isn't a home button. So you can use this quick gesture to switch between apps that are open on your IPhone.

1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, stopping about halfway up.
2. Swipe left or right to scroll between your open apps
3. Tap anywhere on an app to open it.
4. Swipe up to close the app.
5. To exit the App Switcher and return to your Home screen, tap above or below the displayed apps.

You can also exit the App Switcher by closing all open apps. This will automatically return you to your Home screen.

For those of you that are Android users and know how to accomplish the same thing, Please post the How To, so other Android user's can learn.

I came upon this feature by accident a while back and saw that I had several dozens apps open at the same time. Maybe that explains why my iPhone was acting a bit sluggish.

Actually, having multiple apps open in the background doesn't slow the phone down. According to them, opening and closing them takes more energy (battery life). OS is designed to manage apps, and when one is not being actively used, it is merely held in reserve.

Drives me crazy to have all those apps open! Don’t care that it uses more energy, I always close them, several times a day…and, my kids call me a control freak…
