Solar alignment in a landscape shot

The equinox is coming up and there is a certain east/west street that I want to photograph when the sunset aligns. In this case, the street is aligned slightly south of west.

Any thoughts on how to determine the exact best day for the shoot? I'm thinking I might get 2 chances since the sun will align just before and just after the equinox.

The location is on the coast so the sun will appear pretty close to sea level.

Photo ephemeris app might give you a good idea. You can use the free desk top version and adjust it to the approximate date and then narrow down the time. It's fairly easy to use. Check it out.

PhotoPills is another app that allows you to look at sun, moon, and Milky Way position. It also has a VR functionality.
